Exploits

The tag line on all my e-mails includes a verse of scripture. Daniel 11:32 says "...but the people that do know their God shall be strong and do exploits."

I have been meditating on this verse for several weeks. This speaks to me of adventure. I crave adventure in my stories and that is what I write, but in real life I'm not that great at it. Adventure generally means being uncomfortable, and, modern American that I am, I dislike being uncomfortable.

But in the real world (quick side note, the real world is the spiritual, rather than the physical, we tend to get that all mixed-up), those who know God will do exploits. Not those who know of God, but those who know Him. The relationship is what strengthens them and equips them to do great feats.

Notice that it does not say they might. It says they shall (i.e. they will). There are no shrinking violets when we come to know the Lord the way he wants us to. We may stay shy and retiring in the physical realm, but in the spirit we are transformed into warriors. He equips us with His own nature and so we will be strong. There is no doubt. We will do exploits. There is no hesitancy. We will prevail.

So if you knew you could not fail what heroic deed would you do in the Spirit? Who would you set free? What dragon would you slay? What kingdom would you conquer?
